No trip to the cinema would be complete without some popcorn and a drink; it may be a nice treat for us, but it isn’t very good for our wallets. Cinema food is very pricy but is this for a good reason, or just to get us to pay more.
If you buy a large drink, large popcorn and a big bag of sweets, the cost of this in the cinema comes to £10.75 when in the supermarket you could get a similar amount for only £5.70, nearly half price.
Another thing to consider is that the popcorn you get in supermarkets is very different to the tasty popcorn you will get in the cinema. Even though this is true, many people just sneak in their own.

Spokespersons for the Empire cinema 1:says that supermarkets are often selling popcorn for lower than he can buy them for. But the 2:Odeon and 3:Vue let you take in your own food so long as it won’t stink the whole cinema out but a third cinema company, Cineworld, say that food can only be bought inside the cinema and that their rules are the same as all the others, but they’re wrong as we found out.
So if you want to spend your money on films, not food, then don’t worry, because most places will let you, but if they ask questions, tell them to read this.
